Unique creations on leather

EMOTIONS ON LEATHER
These pieces are created by the young artist, Valentina Pianetti Lotteringhi della Stufa, in her studio at her ancestral home in the hills of Tuscany, surrounded by untouched woods, serene lakes and roaming horses on the Estate of Castello del Calcione - a 1000-year-old castle on the hills of Tuscany.
Valentina has always been captivated by the intersection of art, neuroaesthetics and psychology. She explored these themes extensively throughout her education in the Swiss Alps, Paris, London and Milan (with a brief stint in New York). Yet her artistic education started at a young age, within her family’s environment: she is the daughter of a trompe-l’œil painter, the Marquise Spinella Pianetti Lotteringhi della Stufa and the Art Dealer Bob Haboldt, specialising in Old Masters. From them she learned painting, precision, aesthetics, minimalism.
These influences were joined together with a challenging personal journey, where drawing became her refuge, her solace. A way to bring colour into her life. Her creations are a way for the young artist to wear her emotions, to carry them as a reminder of where she’s been. In order to reclaim a life that once seemed destined to remain in shades of black and white.
The way Valentina expresses emotions on these leather surfaces is through a precise, distinctive style. Each flick of the wrist, each drop of paint is charged with emotion, capturing the artist’s energy and raw passion. In a dance of colours, shapes, emotions and chaos.
Alan Favuzzi, her associate, is a creative entrepreneur and a TV Series producer at his company, Eubris.
SINGULAR PIECES, MADE TO LAST
The journey begins with the meticulous selection of the finest vintage and pre-owned leather garments available in Italy. The garments’ quality, design, and craftsmanship are all carefully assessed. Some pieces are further tailored under the artist’s guidance by the expert hands of master leather craftsmen from Tuscany. The artist then plans the placement of the colour of each design. The leather is carefully prepared and treated in order to remove oils, adhesives, and impurities that could prevent the paint from bonding to the material. Finally, with the use of leather-specific paint, layer by layer, the design takes shape in Valentina’s Atelier. A premium topcoat is applied, ensuring the paint is protected and weather-resistant. What emerges are wearable emotions, each speaking to the soul of its wearer.
